MEET THE FOUNDER, DARLENE WINSTON

With 22 years of professional experience in event planning, Darlene Winston is a certified international and domestic event planner, who is also an ASTA certified travel advisor with a specific certification in luxury travel. She has planned everything from weddings, vacations and milestone trips to team-building excursions, award celebrations and brainstorming sessions.
Port City Events Planner, provide private professional meeting spaces for businesses owners locally, and they plan custom events for businesses and lifetime celebrations for individuals.
Recognizing that a large number of people still like to have face-to-face conversations, Winston decided to open a bricks and mortar space, giving her clients the option of an in person consultation where they can have a cup of coffee while they chat and discuss their goals. Although, much of her business comes from client referrals, she does get a significant amount of business from social media, the Internet and email. In order to have a face-to-face meeting with her long distance clients she zooms and/or uses some other customer preferred media.
During her consultations with clients, Winston enjoys picking up on small details and nuances about her clients that they don’t anticipate being part of the event. She says “It’s those small nuances that I like to use when creating an event. I build upon them to ensure that my client has an unforgettable and extraordinary experience that is personalized just for them.”
